HOW THE MUSTANGS CAME ABOUT This short history was compiled by Nhia "money" Xiong- an active defender player for the Mustangs.
OUR HISTORY... Dr. Sean vang and Tonna Yang: Sean Vang ( now a MD for the team) and Touna Yang started the team, which was called the "Young Kickers" at the time. Most of the Mustangs grow up together and then just started to play soccer at a young age. We weren't the best of team at the time (for obvious reason), we were a young team and were lost, looking for someone to help us find our way out of our losing records.
The Moua brothers: Then Ben Moua and his brother Ala Moua come along and changed the whole team concept and playing style. After that we became the MUSTANGS. The Mustangs had enough players to make two teams at one point; one was called the Mustangs, which had all the older skilled players and the Ponies, because the ponies consisted of all the young players ranging from 12 to 14, I at the time was playing for the Ponies. The Mustangs and Ponies were doing good but weren't good enough to win first place in many tournaments.
Vue Brothers: Then came the Three Vue brothers Tou, Joe, and Lancelot. They sparked up the place playing for the ponies. In a tournament the ponies played the mustangs in a semi-final match. The ponies fought hard against the Mustangs. The game went to PKS which the ponies lost but won 3rd place and the mustang won 2nd. It was the first time the Poneis did good in a tournament. T.J, our current keeper , was also on that team and made many great saves for the Ponies.
ONE TEAM: Then everyone started to move away and just stopped coming to practice so the Mustangs and Ponies became one forming a stronger team. In the 2001 small goal 4 on 4 tournament the Mustangs entered 3 teams and won first second and third out of 7 teams. In the tournament against our rival, we finally won, Bee Xiong getting a hattrick against them and Beboi Vang getting some goals....That really boosted up the Mustangs...I remember when Ben asked the team if they could beat Red Dragons, we all weren't sure...Then a year went by and the Mustangs played against Red Dragons in a tournament and the Mustangs defeated the Red Dragons 7-1....Ben asked the question again and this time everyone said yea on a good day...On our first year of MN we showed a very good game against the Sliver hawk but still lost the game.
On our second year the Mustangs showed two very poor games losing to teams the could of beaten...on the Third year of MN the Mustangs showed a poor game beating Stings 3-0, Mustangs feeling that they could win! But in the second game the Mustangs showed up and played the best game in our lives. Down 1-0 in the last 2 min of game we crawled back with Bee Xiong scoring the game tying goal, but we lost to them in PKS.
Now we are about to go to MN again and we just got some new players; Frank Moua, Na Lee, and guys that are from the corbas....This year I think we are going to be a strong team. 2002 MN Results, Mustangs just sucked up there what can i say, we played great but just needed to put more ball in the net.

Our soccer team is made up of good freinds. We were /are growing up together and have been playing together since 1997.
This year we are at a stage where we know we can compete with Hmong's best teams out there. Our expectation is high and will not take any team lightly.
